Veteran Programs and Resources
Each program we offer is designed to meet the unique needs of our veterans, providing comprehensive support in mental wellness, education, and reintegration. We deliver free, tailored services that enhance the lives of those who have served. We invite you to explore our programs and discover the many ways we support and empower veterans.

Veteran and Community Engagement Hub
The Veteran and Community Engagement Hub welcomes veterans, their families, and community members to come together to learn, volunteer, and connect in a supportive environment! At the hub, individuals can build skills, share experiences, and contribute to veteran-focused projects.

Mental Health Services
Here at AFU, we understand the importance of mental health and the journey of healing. Our mental health services for veterans include confidential one-on-one counseling, holistic healing sessions, in-person peer support groups open to all, and an online support group exclusively for women.

Emergency Shelter and Homeless Support
We understand that stable housing is essential to well-being and recovery. Our Emergency Shelter and Homeless Support for veterans includes temporary shelter, assistance securing permanent housing, and resources to help prevent homelessness.

Transportation
We offer free transportation services for veterans living in Cherokee, Dawson, Forsyth, and Pickens counties. Approved participants can schedule rides through Common Courtesy to attend essential medical appointments, including visits within 20 miles of home or at the Atlanta VA Medical Center and affiliated Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). This service helps veterans improve access to care and enhance their quality of life.
