NEW! Peer Support Group for Women Veterans
Share
For the first time at AboutFace-USA, we are proud to launch a peer support group exclusively for women veterans! A space to connect, share, and grow alongside others who understand your journey. This group will be led by Rebekah Edmondson, LMSW and U.S. Army veteran.
As a fellow woman who served, Rebekah brings firsthand insight into the unique challenges women face both in and out of uniform. She is passionate about creating a safe, welcoming space where women veterans can be heard, supported, and empowered.
Rebekah served multiple deployments to Afghanistan. Following the U.S. withdrawal in 2021, founded NXT Mission, a nonprofit that advocates for Afghan military partners. She holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California and is pursuing independent licensure to further support the military and veteran community with high-quality care.
This group will meet twice a month via Zoom, offering flexibility and privacy while still allowing for real, meaningful connection.
Why it matters:
While peer support has long been a part of what we do at AboutFace USA, most of our groups have focused on male veterans. We also recognize that women veterans face different experiences and challenges and they deserve a dedicated space to connect, reflect, and be supported. This group is about making sure all veterans have access to the community and care they deserve in ways that speak to their unique journeys.
If you’re a woman veteran looking for connection or know someone who is, we encourage you to join us!
