A Safe Space for Growth and Healing

At AboutFace-USA, we offer a transformative peer support program designed to empower veterans through shared experiences and mutual support. Our sessions create a safe environment where veterans can connect, share challenges, and build resilience. The program provides both individual and group counseling tailored to the unique needs of each participant, fostering personal growth, stronger coping skills, and a supportive community that helps veterans navigate life after service.

Program Leader: Keegan Merritt

Keegan Merritt is a dedicated Veteran Peer Counselor at AboutFace-USA, that brings extensive experience from his service in the U.S. Army and his subsequent role at the Georgia Department of Public Safety Office of Public Safety Support. Keegan, who specializes in crisis intervention, understands the complexities of post-service life and is committed to guiding fellow veterans through their adjustment and mental health challenges.

Program Leader: Mike Brooks

Michael Brooks has nearly 20 years of experience as a Georgia Law Enforcement Officer, including eight years on the State’s PEER Support Team. As a certified PEER through ICISF, he brings deep expertise in suicide prevention, critical incident response, and peer support for both law enforcement and military personnel. His combat service in Operation Iraqi Freedom, combined with his post-service career, gives him unique insight into the challenges veterans face.

Program Leader: Rebekah Edmonson

Rebekah Edmondson, LMSW, and Army Veteran, spent many of her years in service deployed to Afghanistan. Following the U.S. withdrawal in 2021, she founded NXT Mission, a nonprofit dedicated to providing continued advocacy and support for Afghan military partners. She holds a Master of Social Work from University of Southern California and is working toward independent licensure to improve the quality of care for the military and veteran community.
