Free Transportatio For Local Veterans
AboutFace-USA offers a free transportation program for veterans living in Cherokee, Dawson, Forsyth, and Pickens counties. Approved participants can schedule rides through Common Courtesy to access essential health services, including appointments within 20 miles of home or at the Atlanta VA Medical Center and affiliated Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). This program, funded by SAMHSA through September 2025, is designed to help veterans improve access to care and enhance their quality of life.

Step 1: Application Process
- Mobile Phone Requirement: Veterans must have a mobile phone for safety while riding.
- Complete the Application: Fill out the application form below.
- Submit Your Application: Submit the application below.
- Receive Confirmation: Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email with your rider ID and registration packet.

Step 2: Scheduling Rides and Transportation
- Request a Ride: You will call a designated Ride Request telephone number and leave a message with your full name, rider ID, pick-up and return times, and addresses. You will use the script provided in your registration packet.
- Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation call or text with the driver’s name, license plate number, and vehicle make.
- Pick-Up: The driver will arrive within 20 minutes of the scheduled time. Verify the license plate before entering the vehicle.
- Return Ride: Keep your mobile phone charged and on to receive return ride confirmation. If delayed, call the Request a Ride line.
